About Sandy

Professional photographer for over 25 years

Looking for an experienced, professional photographer who is fun, down to earth and easy to work with?

Well, you found me! I’m a Wedding, Newborn and Family Photographer located in Racine, Wisconsin. Don’t fret, though. I love to travel, especially if there’s a good story to be told.

So, here is a little bit about me and my journey through life and photography.

Both my home and studio are in beautiful Racine, Wisconsin, very close to Lake Michigan; I can literally hear the waves crash on the shore from my front porch, which makes my soul happy. There’s so much natural beauty here, which makes my artistic heart happy. Not to mention all of the gorgeous historic architecture of Downtown Racine & Milwaukee. I just love it all.

My love for photography started in high school and quickly turned into a career. I got hired at a leading corporate photography company and moved up the ranks there. While my creative spirit longed for more artistic control during my years spent there, I certainly learned a lot about the industry and the type of experience that I wanted to offer my clients. Once I mustered up the courage to fly solo, I started this little thing right here in 2013.

Fun fact: I’ve only ever had 2 jobs that were not related to photography in my entire working life. That’s a long time, guys. I’ve photographed thousands of faces over the span of these 20+ years, and I can’t imagine doing anything else for a living.

I’m the mother of two beautiful almost-grown up kids, and a proud step-mother. You’ll see a photo of them right here on this page. Man, how did that happen? How are they so old already? We think that we can count on our brains to store all of the memories, but I can’t tell you how many photos that I’ve found of moments that I wouldn’t have remembered had I not come across that photograph. This is the driving force behind all that I do. Photography isn’t only my career, but it’s my life’s passion. I’m so blessed that I can share my talent and passion with the world through my lens.

A moment lasts all of a second, but the memory lives on forever.

I’m an old soul. I love all things vintage, and some of my favorite studio props have been found while out antique shopping. My parents were hippies, so my love for everything boho-chic started an early age and continues to this day. You’ll see a lot of that earthy style reflected in my work. I’m also a serious music lover who can get down with practically any genre, although 80’s New Wave and Alternative music have a special place in my heart.

If you’ve read this far, thank you! I’d love the opportunity to chat with you more about your own story and start making some memories!

I specialize in doing weddings and newborn photos, she said inside her studio, No. 3576 in the sprawling industrial building. It’s great working with people during the best times of their lives. I love helping them create memories that will live on forever.

Conway, who will be meeting the public during Saturday’s Spring Open House at the studios, also does family photos and branding work for businesses.

“You can come here to my studio,” she said, “or I can come to you. Either way works.”

Inside her studio, Conway — who has been a professional photographer for 25 years — has props and costumes, “all from vendors who do handmade work.”

She’s focusing her attention now on Mother’s Day specials but, when she’s not working, “I take tons and tons of photos of my cats. They entertain me.”
